COVID-19 UPDATE

As we are all aware, we are living in unprecedented times which calls on everyone to practice good hygiene and slow the spread of Corona Virus. We take pride in prioritising pets and pet parents health. In addition to our usual excellent hygiene standards, below are specific measures we will be taking to upkeep our commitment to your health and safety.

Here’s how you can help keep our staff and other pet parents safe: –

If your pet needs veterinary attention and:

  • You have been overseas or interstate within the last 14 days
  • You’re experiencing flu like symptoms
  • Have been instructed to self-isolate or living with someone under quarantine or self-isolating

Please phone us for advice and we can make a plan in line with social distancing recommendations, we are keeping waiting times to a minimum.

We will be asking you about your overseas travel, if you are supposed to be isolated or have any of the symptoms at time of booking an appointment. We request that you are honest as this helps us make a plan to attend to your fur baby in the safest way possible. At this point in time, there is no current evidence of pets spreading the virus.

We ask that you keep hands away from the reception counter. We know this does not come naturally, so we will also be regularly disinfecting the reception counter.

If you are immunocompromised, high risk or concerned about being in the clinic, we have 2 options: –

1. We can examine your fur baby while you wait in your car
2. We offer home visits. Our staff will be taking extra precaution during all home visits by wearing facemasks and regular sanitisation.

Our veterinarians will be greeting you with a warm smile and a friendly hello, we are refraining from handshakes for now.

In line with the Prime Ministers health measures announced Friday 20 March, we ask that only one pet parent accompanies your fur baby for consultations. There may be instances where we will take your fur baby for further examination in treatment area e.g where the vet needs assistance with handling. This will be communicated to you prior.

We have reduced the amount of seating at reception so we can meet the new social distancing requirements. Please give us a ring on your and notify us of your arrival. We will be in touch as soon as it’s your turn.

Hand sanitizers are conveniently placed throughout the practice for your convenience, please use it before and after your consultation.

Please phone ahead to order required prescription medicine repeats so we can arrange to have them ready for you without the need to wait.

Instead of cash, we encourage that you use card or your banking apps for contactless payments

Here’s how we are ensuring you are safe: –

Our staff has been instructed to report any signs of illness and not report for work until cleared by a doctor.

We have instructed our staff to follow the PM’s orders announced on Tuesday 24 March in regards to observing social distancing and only accessing essential services outside of work.

We will continue cleaning our consulting tables, chairs, door handles with disinfectant after every visit.

We will be offering some services via telephone you will be advised at time of making appointment.

We are expecting our lines to be busy as most people will be exercising social distancing measures. We would like to assure you that we will return your call as soon as possible. We also encourage you to make use of our simplified online booking facility. As this situation is evolving, we will keep you posted on any updates as advised by regulatory authorities.

We are confident that this too will pass, and encourage you all to stay safe.
